Sailor Moon Collaboration

2014/10/03

Some months ago the new Sailor Moon tv series, Sailor Moon Crystal, premiered in Japan. To celebrate the return of our beloved childhood heroines, a few of us german (comic-) artists collaborated to do a tribute piece. This was the first one:

I really tried to get into the topic in my own personal style.

The second piece we did is a tribute to summerseason. The first collaboration was kinda successful, so even more artists joined us!

This time around I had the honour of drawing Usagi! I tried a more mangaesque style:

I kinda enjoy that she has not a perfectly beautiful face.

Loved working with some of my favourite german artists! 🙂 Please check out their sites, too!

Blog Introduction/What is this about?

2010/09/14

I welcome you to [lightrayblog], an online blog created by me, Marion, a student of Computeranimation and Game Design in the final year of her mastercourse at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, Austria.

I’m an artist, aspiring to work in the fields of 2D and 3D art and animation. I’m no professional yet, still having to learn a lot and loving it. But in the four years of my experience in CG and the many many years I have been drawing and painting, I had the chance not only to visit a lot of interesting courses and conferences but also to work with great people in great companies. I thought it would be a good idea to share my knowledge and experiences, written mostly for students and young artists who are just at the starting point of their careers. Because when I started my studies, I was really grateful of all the people that helped me and shared their ideas and information with us students.

The general topics I’m going to write about are my personal experiences in projects and work, technical aspects and programs, advice and tips for applications, portfolio and showreels, interviews with other artists, and every other topic related to CG/Gaming/Art/Creativity that seems important to me.

The ultimate reason why I finally started this long planned project of [lightrayblog] is that I have been selected as one of the few students in the field of digital media that have the chance to visit SINGAPORE as a part of the “Experience@Singapore” Organisation. We are going to have a look at the Gaming/VFX-companies that are located there. So this journey is going to be the first main topic of this blog, I think there’s going to be lots of interesting stuff going on!
I’m blogging live from Singapore from October 10th until October 16th. Thank you for reading!
